Who We Are

First Baptist Church Mixon

God's Church here in Mixon has existed since forming in 1866 as the Union Baptist Church, then the Pine Spring Baptist Church, and finally becoming the First Baptist Church of Mixon, when the community name was changed to Mixon.

Mixon is a rural suburb of Tyler, Southeast of the city, in the heart of the woods, surrounded by Bullard, Jacksonville, Troup, and Whitehouse.

Over these 150+ years, First Mixon has been committed to our families, the community, worshiping Christ, Biblical Integrity, and the Great Commission.

First Mixon is an autonomous church affiliated with the Dogwood Trails Baptist Association of Cherokee County, the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. We also cooperate with other churches and ministries to advance the cause of Christ and bless our community.

We worship with a blended style of music that combines traditional hymns and modern contemporary praise and worship.

Our pastor preaches with a commitment to the inerrancy and infallibility of the scriptures, in an expositional verse by verse style that is both engaging and challenging.

If you are looking for a place to connect, grow, find family and friends, then we invite you to come out to the woods and see what you are missing.
